“Operation Secure Line” and Building The Wall.
I told you so! The deployment of the military to the Border under Operation Faithful Patriot is not about using the military to physically apprehend the illegals, but to reinforce our border and keep them out for good! The United States Customs and Border Protection in partnership with the Army Corp of Engineers awarded a contract to the SLSCO to build eight miles of wall in the Rio Grande Valley.
I reported here on this site that a majority of the troops being deployed to the Border are engineers and construction specialists. They are there to upgrade existing border barriers and add new ones where they didn’t exist. They have also added hundreds of miles of concertina wire. They are even shutting down legal lanes of entry so the can help build the wall. CBP is issuing a warning to travelers to expect longer wait times indefinitely.
The contract for this project, referred to by Border Protection as “RGV-02”, was awarded on November 11, 2018, to SLSCO in the amount of approximately $167M. Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2019.
The project consists of five segments located south of Alamo, Donna, Weslaco, Progreso and Mercedes, Texas within Hidalgo County. This project includes the construction and installation of tactical infrastructure including a reinforced concrete levee wall to the height of the existing levee, 18-foot tall steel bollards installed on top of the concrete wall, and vegetation removal along a 150-foot enforcement zone throughout the approximately eight miles of levee wall system.

The levee wall system will include detection technology, lighting, video surveillance, and an all-weather patrol road parallel to the levee wall.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector remains an area of high illegal alien border crossing activity. In Fiscal Year 2017, United States Border Patrol apprehended over 137,000 illegal aliens!! That is truly an astounding number of people. They also seized approximately 260,000 pounds of marijuana and approximately 1,192 pounds of cocaine in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Once constructed, this levee wall system will serve as a persistent impediment to transnational criminal organizations, while still allowing river access for property owners, other federal/state/local officials, local emergency responders, and United States Border Patrol.
United States Customs and Border Protection is working very hard to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 13767 – also known as Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements – CBP continues to take steps to plan, design, and construct a physical wall using the best available materials and cutting-edge technology to most effectively achieve control of the southern border.
We need this now more than ever! They are just building segments at a time, but eventually we will see a big beautiful wall all along the southern border. Hopefully we can get construction going in California where thousands of illegal aliens are currently headed. Hundreds have already arrived and have begun scaling the walls. This is a dire situation and something needs to be done now!
The President is right to change the asylum seeking policy so that anyone who crosses the border illegally will automatically become ineligible for asylum. That will greatly help us deter people from crossing illegally. Where as before anyone could hop over the border illegally, turn themselves into a border agent, claim asylum and get released into the country…totally insane and I fully support the President fixing the problem.
They were basically taunting our agents to take them out and if we don’t stand our ground then these illegal alien invaders will walk all over us! God Bless President Trump for pretty much being the main person in Washington D.C. that wants to secure our borders!
