“Vazquez prepared and filed a total of 9,216 tax returns from January 1, 2015 to May 21, 2018 with her PTIN.
Based on the average deficiency of $2,830.29 from her audited returns, that suggests Vazquez’s fraudulent returns have resulted in harm of over $26 million to the United States from January 1, 2015 to present.”
Maria Del Consuelo Vazquez is the subject of a permanent injunction filed Monday by United States District Judge Fernando M. Olguin. In Monday’s order, Judge Olguin also prohibited Vazquez from owning a tax return preparation business.
Vasquez operated tax preparation business in Pasadena; Corona; Santa Ana; Brighton, Colorado; and Hutchinson, Kansas under a Nevada corporation she called MCV Business Network, Inc. In recent years, Vazquez filed thousands of tax returns for clients under her IRS-issued Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
According to a lawsuit filed by federal prosecutors on July 13 and testimony presented to the court, Vazquez substantially inflated or completely fabricated charitable contributions and unreimbursed employee business expenses to illegally generate federal income tax refunds for her clients or to substantially understate clients’ tax liabilities.
There is a magnifying glass on every tax preparer in the country right now and a total colonoscopy of an audit is being done on these shady scammers that have been ripping off the American taxpayer for years. But tell me, why does it feel like our government has essentially been turning a blind eye to a lot of this crime that has been going on for years? Corruption perhaps?
It is unfortunate that we live in a day and age where depending on the political party that you donate to and support, you can get away with murder, or alternatively locked up for life and investigated when the pendulum finally swings in the other direction. While the Republicans certainly have their fair share of corrupt or inept individuals, the Democrats, especially the California Democrats, seem to be absolutely rife with corruption.
No that isn’t just the stench of the human waste in the streets that you are smelling, there is also a very heavy odor of corruption in the air. It is weighing down our state heavily. Our state is just filled with these scammers, hustlers, drug dealers, human traffickers, and all sorts of nefarious criminals that won’t hesitate to separate a tourist or a fellow Californian from their possessions to make a few bucks.
So we will continue to see stories like these that are about all sorts of criminals from the low-level street thug to the high-class Wall Streeters , no one who seeks to cheat is safe from this administration. I have no doubt Trump will bring down the hammer on every single type of criminal and if he is allowed to effectively do his job for the next 6 years, we will see crime of all kinds reduces to their lowest levels ever.
